UK Government Inspectorate for Skills & Employment

The UK Government\'s inspectorate for skills and employment known as the Adult Learning Inspectorate awarded our organization a grade 1 - ?outstanding? - for its Preparation for Life and Work programme in November 2004. Their report stated that: ?the overall effectiveness of the provision is outstanding. Leadership and management and provision in preparation for life and work are outstanding. EMTP\'s arrangements for quality improvement are satisfactory and its approach to equality of opportunity are outstanding.? [2]

European Social Fund External Audit: January 2004

The auditor concluded:

This project appears to have been well managed and been successful in its aims.

EMTP administered this project in a very organised and efficient manner. They were able to demonstrate an appropriate audit trail for the Government Office (East) claim.

About Us

General Director

Mr. 'Abdul Qadeer Baksh MA, Dip. Arabic Language, ML, BELA Abdul Qadeer is the founder and General Director of ELAS UK.
His responsibility covers planning, marketing, and operational management of ELAS UK.
He obtained his Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of Loughborough, as well as a Diploma in Arabic Language from the University of Mad?nah KSA. He is a qualified and experienced Expedition Leader, qualified First Aider, Certified Survivalist in UK low and highlands and a member of the MLTA (Mountain Leader Training Association) and the BMC (British Mountaineering Council).
His expertise is in management of large educational and activity projects.

Director of Finance and Administration

Mr. Farasat Latif MA, BSc Farasat is the Finance Administrator of ELAS UK. His responsibility covers the administration and financial planning of the School. He gained a BSc in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of Loughborough. His expertise is in managing financial and strategic planning of large educational and activity based projects.

Director of Education

Mr. Tariq Rasul MA, PgD, TEFL Tariq has overall responsibility for the English language programme for ELAS UK, from preparation and planning to execution. He has a Masters in Applied Linguistics from the University of Luton and several years of teaching experience. He presently manages a number of educational contracts for the EMTP (Ethnic Minority Training Project). He manages the teachers in the education department of ELAS UK.

Director of Sports and Outdoor Activities

Mr. Altaf Khan BSc, ML, BELA Altaf manages all sports and activities which are offered by ELAS UK. His responsibility covers the planning, organisation, co-ordination and execution of all the adventure weekends and weekday sports activities. He completed his BSc in Management Science at the University of Luton. He is a qualified and experienced Expedition Leader, qualified First Aider, Certified Survivalist in UK low and highlands and a member of the MLTA (Mountain Leader Training Association) and the BMC (British Mountaineering Council). Altaf is also experienced in risk management and health and safety.

Sports and Adventures Supervisor

Mr. Aftab Hussain Aftab is a qualified First Aider, Certified Survivalist in UK low and highlands and a member of the MLTA (Mountain Leader Training Association) and the BMC (British Mountaineering Council). He has a number of years of experience in youth work and counselling.

Mr. Khaleel Baksh Khaleel is a qualified First Aider, Certified Survivalist in UK low and highlands and a member of the MLTA (Mountain Leader Training Association) and the BMC (British Mountaineering Council).

Mr. Khalid Ayaz Khalid is a keen adventure enthusiast and a responsible leader. He gained a BA in Business Administration from Luton University and had many years experience in working with young people.
